Join me in my efforts to support Golf Fights Cancer!

Play 100. Fight Cancer.

Thatís the minimum number of holes of golf Iíll play on Friday, June 19th at Golf Fights Cancerís Golf Marathon Challenge. Although my body may ďbreakĒ in the process, I believe itís well worth the effort to make a difference in the fight against cancer.

I have chosen to fundraise for GFC because I believe strongly in this groupís mission to make an immediate impact on the lives of cancer patients. Since 2004, they have raised $3.9 Million in support of various related programs. Check out their grant history here: http://golffightscancer.org/our-grant-history/

Proceeds from this event will be directed towards Bostonís Hope Lodge. We understand that there are many missing pieces to delivering cancer care. One commonly encountered gap is housing for patients and their families who must travel further distances to access their treatments. In the 6 years it has been open, The Hope Lodge has provided over 76,000 free nights of housing to more than 2,300 cancer patients and their caregivers, saving each family more than $6,000.

Given that The Hope Lodge is in service non-stop and serves so many families, it has immediate needs for funding for some unpopular repairs and upgrades to the facility - from painting to new carpeting, to HVAC upgrades and masonry. GFCís support will meet a laundry list of facility upgrades that will strengthen and improve their accomodations.

You can join forces with our cause by helping me reach my goal of $2,500. Please consider sponsoring me on my fundraising page at http://golffightscancer.kintera.org/GMC, or send your tax-deductible donation directly to Golf Fights Cancer, 300 Arnold Palmer Boulevard, Norton, MA 02766. Please indicate you are supporting my marathon fundraising effort in the note section of the check.

Thank you for allowing me to share this opportunity with you.
