I DID IT!!!! 100 Holes of Golf in 1 DAY!!!

Our lives are all about experiences. And we all remember our special “first” experiences. The first day of school, first time driving a car, first-born child/grandchild- so many positive experiences. But how about those firsts that you’d rather not remember? The first sense of a lump, the first time hearing that you or a loved one has a cancer diagnosis, heading to your first chemo or surgery. Virtually all of our families have been touched by news like this – if you haven’t, consider yourself incredibly fortunate.

So with this, I am about to enter a positive “first” experience in the hope of helping those facing the “Cancer firsts”. I participated in my first fundraising golf marathon – for Golf Fights Cancer (GFC). My challenge was to play 100 holes in one day and hope that many of you will/Would sponsor my efforts.

This particular marathon is raising monies to support The Hope Lodge in Jamaica Plain. How amazing to find out that the event is targeting a facility in my neighborhood. Must be fate. This facility is a “home away from home” for cancer patients and their caregivers. The support that it provides is amazing. To learn more, visit their link:

So on June 19th at Stow Acres Country Club, I gave it my all and played 100 holes (I’ve never played more than 36 in one day). The day was a tremendous challenge for me— although not nearly the kind of challenge that every cancer patient endures. I’m hoping you can help me reach my goal of raising $9000 (my next new goal, and I think we can reach it). Any donation, no matter how large or small, will help get me towards that goal. I’m playing in memory and in honor of so many in my life who have succumbed to the disease or who are currently undergoing treatment.

If you'd like to mail a check, please make it out to "Golf Fights Cancer," add my name to the memo, and mail it to Golf Fights Cancer, 300 Arnold Palmer Blvd, Norton, MA 02766. Or click on the GIVE NOW button on the top right of this page.

Thank you for supporting my Golf Marathon Challenge and Golf Fights Cancer.
